As with any fine instrument, especially one with electronic components, church organs must be regularly serviced by an expert technician. While an accomplished organist might perform spot tuning from time to time, to maintain the integrity of your instrument, a professional, preferably a firm that builds church organs, is an imperative. Church organs respond to fluctuations in their environment necessitating routine adjustments to maintain their temperaments, pitch divisions, blower, reeds, and flues and electronic components. While a major repair or replacement might not be needed for 20 years or more, neglect, in the form of overlooking routine maintenance, will greatly impact the quality and tonality of an organ, as well as lessen its service life. 

 

When a component fails and your church organ is out of service, know that the Allen Organ Service Division will swiftly remediate, replacing the circuit board from our vast inventory so that downtime is greatly minimized. Toward that end, as part of our Allen Organ Support function, we maintain a select inventory for both current models, which are manufactured at our plant in Pennsylvania, as well as for our legacy models. We take the extra step to initiate ‘last time buys’ from the original integrated circuit manufacturer to maintain boards for discontinued models -as far back as 50 years. Additionally, when a buy-out is not possible, we offer a plug-and-play option as well. This way, any circuit board for any instrument, regardless of its age, can be quickly dispatched to our service technicians around the globe.
