Mount Vernon Baptist Church

Mount Vernon has been a growing church since 1981 going through a variety of circumstances: in our urban land-locked location on Broad Street; in Hermitage High School; and most abundantly in their newest location on Nuckols Road. There have been ups and downs, but always upward and onward.

Mt. Vernon Baptist selected this beautiful five manual instrument to accommodate a wide range of musical styles in their worship services. This organ incorporates over 60 speakers with a custom installation plan utilizing a double audio main organ system, an antiphonal Trumpet en chamade, and (a first for Allen Organ DC) string division mounted in the apex of the church's ceiling.

Another special feature of this organ is that it has seven unique, independent voicing with individual audio settings including: Classic Allen, English Cathedral, Orchestral, Cavaille-Coll,

Schlicker, Arp Schnitger, and Aeolian-Skinner.

This organ's dedication recital will be held April 28, 2017 by Diane Bish.
